The International 14 grew in numbers from this year onwards at Beer with regular club racing and involvement in international competitions. This interest survived for around ten years. Beer SC hosted the I14 Worlds in 2000. -
1997: Mark Waters and Andy Leslie
Racing their I14, "Ecstasy" during the Nationals at Fowey, Cornwall. Other I14 sailors from Beer included Jon Turner, Peter Bagwell, Nigel Westlake, Ian Teasdale, Peter Harper, Garry Mettam, Ali Green, Colin Gray and Roger Hoare. -

Club members also competed in the I14 Worlds in San Francisco. -
2002: I14 Nationals Falmouth
Paul Vine and crew Dave Dobrijevic (red hull) won the coveted Prince of Wales Cup in this year as well as the Europeans in Denmark (pictured). -
